Edit MobileXML Portlet

Skip Navigation Links| Field Descriptions | Related Help Topics | Additional Information | Locating this Page |

MobileXML is well-formed XML that conforms to the OracleAS Wireless MobileXML DTD. The OracleAS Wireless gateway transforms the MobileXML into device specific markup (such as tinyHTML and WML). This allows your MobileXML portlet to be displayed on a variety of mobile devices automatically. For more information on MobileXML and the MobileXML DTD, see the OracleAS Wireless documentation.

Use this page to enter a display name for the portlet, and to specify the portlet's content.

Title And Content

Field Description
Display Name Enter a display name for the portlet. This name is used when the portlet is displayed on pages on the desktop.
Short Display Name Enter a short display name for the portlet. This name is used when the portlet is displayed on the mobile device. If this is blank, the Display Name (for the desktop) is used.
Display Portlet Header Click to display the portlet header and the text supplied in the Display Name field. Clear the check box to suppress the header.

Note: The portlet header only displays on pages on the desktop, not on the mobile device.

Content

Enter the content for this portlet. If you do not use MobileXML tags, the content appears as plain text without any formatting.

Example:

<SimpleText>
  <SimpleTextItem>
    Hello world!
  </SimpleTextItem>
</SimpleText>

Note: It is recommended that the content block not exceed more than 2000 characters due to the limitations of some mobile devices.
