Page Properties

Field Description
Page Type

Displays the page type. The page type is specified when the page is created and cannot be changed. OracleAS Portal provides a number of page types by default:

  • Standard pages display portlets and items.
  • Mobile pages display portlets and items. Mobile pages provide a way to design pages specifically for displaying in mobile devices, such as cell phones. Standard pages can also be displayed in mobile devices, however the standard page design environment is more suited to creating pages for larger display devices, such as PC monitors.
  • URL pages display the contents of a specified URL.
  • PL/SQL pages display the results of executing PL/SQL code.
  • JSP pages display Java Server Pages (JSPs).
  • Navigation Pages are a special type of page that enables you to provide standard navigational objects across multiple pages.

Pages may also be of custom page types.

Note: The page group administrator may choose to prevent certain types of pages being created in the page group.

Name

Enter a name for this page to be used in instances when it is viewed outside of OracleAS Portal, for example, when it is viewed through a WebDAV client. This name is case sensitive. OracleAS Portal also uses this name in the formation of direct access URLs (see the Notes section, towards the end of this topic.)

Note:

  • The name must be unique within the page group.
  • The name is limited to 40 characters, and can include alphanumeric characters (A to Z, a to z, 0 to 9), spaces, and the following special characters:

    _ - . , ; ! = ~ @ ( ) [ ] { } ^ $ +
Display Name

Edit the display name, which identifies the page to other users. This is the name that is displayed in the Navigator.

Note: The name is limited to 40 characters.

Description Edit the description, which provides information that might be useful to others who edit the page. The description must not exceed 2000 characters, and is displayed only when editing the page, not when viewing the page.
required attributes If the page is based on a custom page type that has additional, required attributes, those attributes are also included in this section.
