Region Type

Field Description
Region Type

Indicates that the region has not been designated as a portlet, item, or sub-page links region. This means that the region can potentially contain either portlets or items. By default, all new regions are undefined.

You can change the region type to Items, Portlets, or Sub-Page Links depending on what type of content you want the region to contain.

Note: When you add a region, the type of the region is undefined (i.e., it has the potential to contain portlets, items, or sub-page links), regardless of the type of the region where you clicked the add region icon (the source region). When you change the region to a portlet, item, or sub-page links region, the new region will use the same property settings as the source region. If you change the new region to be the same region type as the source region, the new region will also use the same attribute list as the source region. Otherwise, the new region uses the default attribute list for that region type.
