Share Portlet Instance

Use this page to make a particular instance of a portlet, along with all its customizations, available to add to other pages.

Share Portlet Instance

If the selected object is a portlet that is not already shared:

Yes

Click to make this particular instance of the portlet available to add to other pages.

This means that when a user customizes the portlet instance on a page, those customizations are reflected on all other pages that include the shared portlet instance. This means that users do not have to make the same customizations to multiple instances of the same portlet.

No Click to cancel this operation.

If the selected object is a portlet that is already shared:

Cancel

You cannot share portlets that are already shared.

  1. In the Page Groups portlet, under Edit a Page, click Browse Pages next to the Name field.
  2. Select the page that includes the portlet instance you want to share, then click Edit.
  3. Click Actions next to the portlet.
  4. Click Share Instance.

Tip: By default the Page Groups portlet is located on the Build tab of the Builder page.
