Optional Page Properties

Field Description
Item Versioning

Select the level of item version control to use when editing items in pages based on this template. Select:

  • None to overwrite the existing item. The database does not maintain a record of the item's previous versions.
  • Simple to enable the user to choose between overwriting the existing item or uploading the item as a new version. If the latter, the database maintains a record of the item's previous versions.
  • Audit to upload the item as a new version. OracleAS Portal maintains a record of the item's previous versions.

Notes:

  • This setting overrides the item versioning specified for the page group, but you cannot provide a lower level of item version control at the page level than is specified at the page group level. For example, if page group item versioning is set to Simple, page level item versioning must be Simple or Audit; it cannot be set to None.
  • Page designers can override this setting on pages based on this template, but cannot provide a lower level of item version control than what is specified here.
  • This option takes effect only if the page that is based on the template is a Standard page or is a custom page type that is based on the Standard page type.

User Interface Templates

Field Description
UI Template

Choose the user interface template to use with pages based on this template.

A user interface template is different from a page template. A user interface template governs what is displayed around the page, whereas a page template governs the appearance and content of the page itself.
