Edit Page Template: Regions

Use this page to select a default portlet and default item region for pages based on this template. The default item region is used to determine where to put items added via WebDAV clients. The default portlet region is used to determine where to put portlets when you move content from one page to another and the regions between the two do not match up.

Field	Description
Default Region Type	Choose Default Portlet Region to select the default portlet region. You can then select the appropriate radio button for the region you want to define as the default portlet region. Choose Default Item Region to select the default item region. You can then select the appropriate radio button for the region you want to define as the default item region.

Notes

You can see radio buttons only in the regions of the type chosen in the Default Region Type list. That is, you can only select a portlet region as the default portlet region and an item region as the default item region.
Undefined regions cannot be selected as the default portlet or item region.
Any page you create that is based on this template will use the defaults you set here. These defaults cannot be overridden unless the page is detached from the template.

Locating this Page

Log in to OracleAS Portal, and click the Navigator link at the top of the page.
Click the Contents link next to the page group that "owns" the template you want to edit.
On the resulting page, click the Templates node.
On the resulting page, click the Edit link next to the template you want to edit.
In the page toolbar at the top of the page, click the Properties link next to Templates.
Click the Regions tab to bring it forward.
