Copy Page Template

Use this page to create a copy of an existing page template. This provides a quick way to create a new page template based on an existing template with similar layout or content.

NoteThe new page template is created in the same page group as the original page template.

Page Template Properties

Field Description
Name

Enter a name OracleAS Portal will use in the formation of direct access (or "pretty") URLs. To verify the name OracleAS Portal will recognize in a direct access URL, add an item to the page template, and note the name in the Add Item Wizard's Path information.

Note: The name must be unique within the page group and can contain only alphanumeric characters (A-Z, a-z, 0-9) and the underscore (_) character. Do not use spaces or other special characters.

Display Name

Enter a display name to identify the new page template to other users. This is the name that is displayed in the Navigator.

Note: The display name is limited to 40 characters.

Access Control

Field Description
Copy Access Control Select to copy the access control properties and privileges associated with the original page template.

Content Options

Field Description
Copy Content

Select to copy the content of the template; that is, any portlets or items that appear on the template.

Note: If you do not select this box, only the template's properties (which includes the style) and the region layout are copied to the new template.

Copy Portlet Customizations

Select to copy any customizations that have been made to the portlets on the original page template. If you do not select this check box, the portlets on the new template will be reset to their defaults.

  1. Log in to OracleAS Portal, and click the Navigator link at the top of the page.
  2. Click the Contents link next to the page group that "owns" the template you want to copy.
  3. On the resulting page, click the Templates node.
  4. On the resulting page, click the Copy link next to the template you want to copy.
